What Is the Business Process Transformation Starter Pack in SAP?

1 day ago 3

In addition to the cloud ERP system in the form of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition or SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, RISE with SAP also includes the business process transformation starter pack.

The package includes the usage rights for the SAP Signavio components listed in this table.

Scope of the Business Process Transformation Starter Pack

As you can see, the starter pack doesn’t include all SAP Signavio components, as it’s only an entry-level package. It allows customers who haven’t yet licensed the respective SAP Signavio components to use them. For example, customers who have performed an initial analysis of their as-is processes with Process Discovery in the run-up to the switch to SAP S/4HANA can use SAP Signavio Process Insights to analyze the key figures in the context of process flows and use the extensive filter functions. With the use of SAP Signavio Process Manager, it’s possible to transfer the SAP standard content available in SAP Signavio Process Explorer into your own SAP Signavio workspace, refine the standard process models and share them with other project participants.

The contract term of the starter pack is identical to that of the RISE with SAP contract. You can extend the existing usage rights. To do so, in your SAP BTP subaccount, you connect the SAP Signavio Process Insights application using the RISE with SAP service plan (see figure below). The service plan supports one-time data loading. This can be the analysis of an existing SAP ERP system or the analysis of the SAP S/4HANA system after go-live.

Connection to SAP Signavio Process Insights

If you want to continuously analyze data with SAP Signavio Process Insights after the one-time load from your source system, this is easily possible. After purchasing an SAP Signavio Process Insights license, you only need to exchange the service plan in SAP BTP.

Changing the Service Plan

Alternatively, you can leave an existing instance with the RISE with SAP service plan if, for example, you’ve analyzed your existing SAP ERP system and with the standard service plan your SAP S/4HANA system. In this case, the SAP ERP analysis isn’t overwritten and remains as a baseline for process performance comparisons.

If you need additional users for SAP Signavio Process Manager or SAP Signavio Process Collaboration Hub, they can be licensed and added to the SAP Signavio workspace.

Business Process Transformation Starter Pack: The starter pack has been part of RISE with SAP since the end of October 2021. It enables customers to use SAP Signavio Process Insights, SAP Signavio Process Manager, and SAP Signavio Process Collaboration Hub. The exact scope of use is described in the Supplement of RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud and the Supplement of RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition. You should verify the supplement applicable to your contract to see whether you’re eligible. The current supplements can be viewed in SAP Trust Center at www.sap.com/about/trust-center/agreements/cloud/cloud-services.html?sort=latest_desc.

To make getting started with SAP Signavio products as easy as possible, SAP Signavio Onboarding Resource Center is available in addition to the extensive documentation on SAP Signavio products in SAP Support Portal. SAP Signavio Onboarding Resource Center provides information in three areas:

  • Get started: Get an overview and all the information you need to be able to use the starter pack.
  • Enablement: Get access to e-learnings, documentation, product news, and training.
  • Support & Community: Learn where to get support for questions and how SAP Signavio Community can help you.

In addition to the information available in SAP Support Portal and SAP Signavio Onboarding Resource Center, regular emails are sent to your main IT contact. The main IT contact is the person who was defined in the contract by your SAP account manager when the contract was created. The emails in this table, among others, are sent automatically.
